After spending 17 years as a Major League pitcher, Tom Burgmeier realized that the most meaningful rewards weren’t on the baseball field under stadium lights but in the peaceful quiet before dawn, immersed in the woods. Hunting was always part of his life—an activity where patience, discipline, and reverence for nature were as important as they were during his baseball career.
As the seasons passed, Tom began seeing beauty in what others left behind. Every shed antler told a story of survival, growth, and renewal. Rather than allowing those pieces of nature to disappear back into the forest, he envisioned giving them a second life.
The idea to create Primal Jewelry sparked the birth of Rut & Ring. Each item is handcrafted from naturally shed antlers, turning a wild symbol into wearable art. Since no two antlers are identical, each jewelry piece — whether a ring, pendant, bracelet, or keepsake — reflects the unique character of the animal and its landscape.
